Canadian Women in communications is pleased to announce a new initiative for women in business, a scholarship opportunity with the Rotman School of Management.
The Athena Program is a dynamic and interactive learning experience that will give up-and-coming professional women the tools they need to understand themselves, be heard and build networks that are critical to their success. It covers effective communication techniques in common workplace situations, listening and asserting skills, and professional image and presence.
What you will learn
This two-day program is designed to assist you with developing professional tools you will need to support your success. At the completion of the program, you will confidently address your corporate culture with a keen sense of direction and professional understanding.
Through teaching, coaching and interaction with peers, participants will work to develop their professional confidence and personal brand. Sessions are taught by Rotman faculty and senior business executives. Participants will gain peer feedback and valuable new professional contacts.

Scholarship Details
This scholarship is open to all CWC members in good standing and have three to five years of full time experience in the communications industry (radio, television, IT/ICT, specialty broadcasting, cable, TV, telecommunications, publishing, new media, film/TV production and allied fields).
The scholarship covers the cost of tuition only, and does not include travel and accommodations.

Joanne Weir, Manager, Accommodations Planning &

CWC - Neotelis Mini MBA in Telecommunications scholarship. Read

Canadian Women in Communications announced a NEW executive
development scholarship opportunity with Neotelis,
a leading international training organization for the telecommunications
industry which ran July 12 - 23, 2010.
Scholarship details:
The scholarship covers the cost of tuition, but does NOT
include travel and accommodation expenses.
The scholarship is open to all CWC members in good standing; however,
preference will be given to applicants who have at least five years
of work experience and who are at an entry or mid management level in
their careers.

2010 Banff World Television Festival & nextMEDIA Banff Scholarship |
Teresa Clifton, Avid Editor/Packager,
Aboriginal Peoples Television Network (APTN), is the 2010 scholarship
recipient.

The scholarship provided one CWC member with a full delegates pass to
attend the 2010 Banff World Television Festival AND
nextMEDIA Banff, which ran in June.

Scholarship Details
The scholarship covers the cost of registration for both the Banff World
Television Festival and nextMEDIA Banff. As part of the scholarship,
the winner will have the opportunity to detail her experiences at the
two events on the CWC blog.
The scholarship is open to all CWC members in good standing; however,
preference will be given to applicants whose work is relevant to television
broadcasting or a closely related field, and are at a mid to senior
management level.
PLEASE NOTE: Travel and accommodation expenses are
NOT covered by the scholarship - these are
the responsibility of the scholarship recipient.

Twice a year, the Rotman
School of Management at the University of Toronto sponsors a scholarship,
valued at $3,000, for one CWC member to participate in its MBA Essentials
for Managers program.
Scholarship Details
The scholarship is open to all CWC members in good standing; however,
preference will be given to applicants who have at least five years
of work experience and who are at a mid to senior management level in
their careers.
The scholarship covers the cost of tuition only, and
does not include travel and accommodation expenses.
This guide has been developed for the CWC membership to support members
in taking charge of their professional development. It is suitable for
members at any stage of their career, and may be of particular interest
to those who are transitioning to the workplace, transitioning between
jobs, and those who may not work in a traditional "job."

One-To-One addresses questions of career advancement and transition
with guidance from CWC’s highly acclaimed career coach, Rodger
Harding. The participant completes a career self-evaluation, followed
by a two-hour private career coaching session (audio taped for future
reference) and follow-up. CWC offers a limited number of scholarships
to its members each month.

on Board Mentoring Program - Scholarship |
