REVISION: Sadly, Tom Short is unable to join us for our event although we have been able to acquire the company of Marty Park for our event. We are certain he will be very informative and an enjoyable speaker along with the other panellists Stacey McIntyre and Pam Middleton. See you all there.
Marty Park, CEO from Rare Method and Evolve Business Group
Marty started his career as an entrepreneur at age 21. When friends were trying to get a job, Marty was trying to make payroll and expand a company. Marty has owned and operated companies in software development, audio production, bars and restaurants, furniture sales and franchises. Marty’s main focus over the last 9 years has been Evolve Business Group, a company focused on growth and performance through coaching and training for companies. Marty has been awarded Business Coach of the Year for Canada and North America. Marty was selected as one of Calgary's Top 40 Business Professionals under 40 by Calgary Inc. magazine. He was also recognized as the Canadian Youth Business Foundation: Mentor of the Year in 2005. Most recently Marty continues to operate his restaurants in Calgary called San Remo Ristorante, Evolve Business Group and has accepted the role of CEO at Rare Method Interactive. Marty is still practicing what he professes. He continues to grow his portfolio of companies while helping other build theirs.
Please join us on March 24, 2010 as we host a panel discussion event focused on the art of negotiation for professional women in communications. At Stoneset Equities Ltd, professionals will gather to learn what they can from experts of negotiation. Whether you are negotiating with your boss, negotiating with your clients, or negotiating with a sales clerk, these professionals will show you how to be successful. This panel will be asked questions regarding how to conduct yourself in order to get what you want. The discussion will be open to questions and discussion which allows for a variety of opinions and solutions.
These types of events are incredibly valuable to professional women as you can voice your questions and learn how to become as successful as possible in different types of communications. This event will also give you a chance to network and make connections with your peers in the communication industry.
The event runs from 6 – 8 pm and food and refreshments will be provided.

Stacey McIntyre, Senior Media Planner, Venture Communications
Over the past 15 years in advertising, Stacey has saved her client millions of dollars through touch yet fair negotiations with some of the largest media owners. Her clients have included General Motors, Chrysler, Visa, Coca Cola, Campbell Soup, FedEx, University of Calgary, Scotiabank, Marble Slab Creamery, Pharmasave, Bell Canada, among others.
Stacey has worked at some of Canada's largest and most influential media agencies in the country including Starcom, OMD and M2 Universal. Stacey relocated to Calgary 5 years ago and is with Venture Communications.
Pam Middleton, Senior Sales Manager, Delta Hotels
She is a born and raised Calgarian. Pam has a Bachelor of Arts in Communications from the University of Calgary. Her career path has included a variety of event management and sales roles, such as many years with the Calgary Stampede, followed by 7 years with the Westin Calgary and been at the Delta Bow Valley hotel for the past 3 years and counting. Pam recently received the Delta Hotel's "2008 Award of Distinction" which annually honors the top 10 sellers in Delta Hotels.
