About Fariba Anderson:
As Vice President Lottery IT, Fariba is the single point of contact, senior advisor and spokesperson on information technology for Lottery business line. Fariba held a verity of CIO, SVP, VP, Executive Director and Director roles with Allstream, Bell, Compuware, Rogers, Imperial Oil, and most recently, as the President of ACI Consulting Group. Fariba has been recognized as one of Canada’s top 100 Women Entrepreneurs and holds a MBA from University of Toronto Rotman School of Management and a Computer Science Degree from York University. Fariba is also a Certified Management Consultant with CGEIT (Certified in the Governance of Enterprise IT) designation.
About Heather Gordon:
Ms. Gordon is a financial executive who spent the first two decades of her career working with developing companies in the cable television and entertainment industries in Canada, the United Kingdom and Brazil. She served as Vice-President, Finance, of CUC Broadcasting, and as CFO and Director of Canbras Communications Corp. and PS Production Services Ltd. She has also advised a number of Canadian corporations including CPAC, Slice Network, Rhombus Media and YTV. Ms. Gordon has also served as a board member on several corporate and not-for-profit organizations. For the past six years she has been Vice President, Finance for a non-profit organization, the Canadian Institute for Advanced Research. She is a Chartered Accountant with a Bachelor of Science degree in computer science.
About Joan Jenkinson:
Joan Jenkinson is the Director of Independent Productions/Executive Producer for S-VOX owner of VisionTV, One: the Body, Mind & Spirit channel, Joytv 10 and Joytv 11. Her responsibilities include creating and executive producing documentaries, music, lifestyle/reality and drama programming; representing the organization and making presentations at industry functions; participation in diversity initiatives. She has been with S-VOX for nine years.
Joan Jenkinson is the co-creator and executive producer of the Cultural Diversity Drama Competition which has created three television drama pilots, Kink in My Hair, Hotel Babylon and St. Jamestown and DiverseTV with the National Screen Institute which has developed six drama projects including the award winning drama six-part series, Soul. She is currently executive producing She’s the Mayor a 13 x 30 min. situation comedy.
Before joining the VisionTV group of channels in May 2001, Joan Jenkinson served for five years as Executive Director of Women in Film and Television – Toronto for five years, where she helped hundreds of people gain the knowledge and skills necessary to advance their careers in the broadcast, film and new media industries. Her responsibilities included corporate strategic planning, the management of WIFT-T's budget and personnel, and curriculum design for the organization's professional development programs.
About Julie Osborne:
Julie Osborne has worked at Maclean’s magazine where she is Deputy Publisher since 2007. She has recently added Canadian Business, MoneySense, Profit and Chatelaine to her responsiblities. She shifted to Rogers Publishing from Rogers Media where she was the Vice President, Television Distribution.
Prior to moving to Rogers Media in 2001, she worked at the Canadian Cable Television Association and CTV. She has worked in and around the Olympic movement, working for the International Olympic Committee at 4 Olympic Games and on both bids that Toronto mounted for the 1996 and 2008 Games. She also assisted Winnipeg with their successful bid for the Pan American Games in 2002.
