This event is being hosted by the CWC-AFC Ottawa-Gatineau. January 19, 2010: Communicating for Results: Understanding Your Style and Connecting with Others - A Breakfast Session Ottawa
Everyone has their own personal style when it comes to communicating with others – their “comfort zone”. Conflicts occur when our style and the style of the person whom we are interacting with just don’t “jive”.
Miscommunication, misunderstandings and a general lack of interest on your listener’s part can all result when it seems that we are speaking two different languages to each other – or communicating with each other in two different ways.
The skills that you will take away from this practical workshop will help you to communicate more effectively with everyone whom you interact with – at work, at home and in your community!
Upon completion of this workshop you will be able to:
- Identify your personal communication style – along with it’s built in strengths and “blind spots”;
- Quickly assess and identify the communication styles of others who you need to interact with; and
- Understand the importance and impact of presenting information according to the listener’s natural style.
Continental Breakfast will be served at the Chateau Laurier Hotel.
