    About Stephanie MacKendrick:

    Stephanie MacKendrick has worked in the communications industry for more than three decades, 13 of them as President of Canadian Women in Communications. Stephanie holds a degree in journalism from Ryerson Polytechnic Institute (now Ryerson University), and worked as a journalist for ten years, including five with Broadcast News Ltd., at The Canadian Press. She then moved to corporate communications, serving at Rogers Communications Inc., and Unitel (MTS Allstream) before becoming Vice President, Corporate Communications at Atlantis Communications Inc. Stephanie joined Canadian Women in Communications (CWC) in 1996 and has been instrumental in developing CWC into a leading women’s professional organization.

    Known internationally for her work to promote women’s participation on corporate boards, Stephanie is also immediate Past President (of the Board of Directors) of The International Alliance for Women (TIAW), a worldwide umbrella organization of women’s networks and is active in their Women on Boards and World of Difference Awards initiatives.

    Stephanie served as Chair of the Board of The Innoversity Creative Summit in 2004 and 2005, a not-for-profit organization that fosters diversity in Canadian media. Stephanie was a member of the Board of Directors of the Smart Systems for Health Agency (SSHA) from 2006 to 2008 and she is also a member of the Board of Governors of Canada’s Telecommunications Hall of Fame Foundation (CTHoF). In 2005, she was named one of WXN’s 100 Most Powerful Women in Canada.
