This event is being hosted by the CWC-AFC Manitoba. October 21, 2009: "Social Media" Power Hour - FREE Workshop/Networking event Winnipeg
SOCIAL MEDIA POWER HOUR with Liz Hover, Manager/Producer, National Screen Institute website
Think only celebrities can make twitter work as a communications tool? Scratching your head about how to grow your fan base on facebook? If you’ve got questions about social media, we’ve got answers! Join us on Wednesday, October 21 for a Social Media Power Hour – a casual after-work get together where you can nibble on appetizers, mingle with your peers and figure out what’s up with this social media thing. You will leave with practical applications of social media you can take back to the office and use right away (and maybe a twitter or facebook profile too!) Bring a friend/colleague and feel free to bring your laptop too – there will be free wireless available at the venue. Oh, and by the way, this event is FREE for members (cost for non-members is $10) and appetizers will be provided courtesy of our venue The District Restaurant & Cocktail Lounge!
Social media applications like facebook and twitter have great potential as marketing tools. The tricky part is sorting through the hype (and lingo) to get to practical ways of using social media for personal and professional marketing, communications and branding. Liz Hover, Manager/Producer of the National Screen Institute website, will be our presenter for this fab event.
Date: Wednesday, October 21, 2009 Location: The District Restaurant & Cocktail Lounge, 177 Lombard Avenue Time: 5:00 - 6:30 p.m. (Appetizers and mingling at 5:00 p.m. – cash bar, workshop begins at 5:30 p.m.) Members: Free (Online registration is required) Non-Members: $10 (Online registration is required)
